I graduated from (BA) illustration with animation at the Manchester School of Art in 2016 and am currently working there as a teaching assistant, as well as doing my MA in illustration. A lot of my painted work is done with recycled materials or on recycled surfaces to minimise waste. I am a big fan of the abstract, the ridiculous and the surreal. Observation is key; inspiration comes from looking and understanding is brought by drawing. Through active research, conversation, and by physically placing oneself within the subject in question, one deepens their knowledge and comes close to full understanding. At the moment I am working on a book called 'A Crawl Through Cave Art', a compendium picture book for adults, which will be a visual exploration tackling different aspects of caves and human interaction with them. To achieve this, I work closely with the caving community and at various relevant locations (underground).
